Stitches Well-placed, Devotional
Stitches of Prevention
“A stitch in time saves nine” is a famous maxim.
In this world of troubled souls, a few stitches might help to prevent some of those frazzled places that develop in men’s hearts.
A few well-placed ones can stop a tear before it completely destroys a soul.
But waiting until a gaping hole develops may require replacement of parts that we hold dear. These holes require many stitches to repair.
Stitches of Repair
Mending a broken heart or encouraging a depressed soul may require a variety of stitches. These stitches are especially helpful when administered by those who have experienced them themselves.
Some may need to touch the hem of His garment.
Some may need to highlight an important part.
Some may need to surround a weak section.
Some may need to open a place for connection.
Some are long, some are short, depending upon the need.
Stitches to Meet the Need
Maybe you know of some other stitches that can mend broken souls. This is just a short list. However, no stitch is of any value until it is applied to the recipient.
- Stitches of hope
- Stitches of grace
- Stitches of encouragement
- Stitches of mercy
- Stitches of kindness
- Stitches of love
- Stitches of joy
- Stitches of peace
- Stitches of patience
The best ones though, are placed just in time.
Maybe it’s needful for us to do a little mending today.
What stitches do you need to work on?
