Spring – A Testament to the Promises of God
Spring has sprung.
Yellow faces tilt their heads. Tulips stand ready to burst open. Purple blossoms color the ground.
Nine hopefuls are nesting under the mother hen as she patiently awaits their arrival. It is spring.
The guineas have made it through winter. They take their journey through the pastures seeking bugs. Seldom do they venture into the yard anymore now that the earth is warming and bugs are appearing.
Spring’s arrival gives new life to the farm. The dull browns turn to bright greens. The smell of overturned earth gives memory of fresh tomato sandwiches and cucumber slices.
Yes, spring has arrived. Its arrival is a testament to the promises of God.
While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.Genesis 8:22
Since the Great Flood of Noah’s day, this promise has not ceased.
Spring – Time for Planting
The advance of spring shouts that winter is over. The time for planting has come.
We sow in expectation of a great harvest.
Blessed are ye that sow beside all waters, that send forth thither the feet of the ox and the ass.Isaiah 32:20
Spring – Looks Forward to the Blessing
Planting in anticipation of a harvest brings a blessing from the Lord. It stirs hope in the planter’s soul. It also reminds us of another of God’s promises.
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.Galatians 6:9
May the arrival of spring awaken us to the blessings God sends our way. May this season rejuvenate and energize you as you view God’s creation as it awakens from winter’s slumber.
